Fraternity Handshake
We often notice that almost all of fraternities have its own handshake. They usually do it every time they meet each other. Questions such as why they do that, if it’s necessary and what is the role of their handshake in their brotherhood are the questions that often bother our minds. This research can somehow help the readers to answer those common questions.
Though it cannot help to improve our country’s economy, it is important to solve the hanging part of our thoughts about fraternity, and many of the UP Mindanao students are also members of fraternities. As much as many are concerns, this topic may be helpful to inform the barbarians (a person who is not member of any fraternity) if why do frat men do that. It is also important to study this communication act in order to know if frat men should does it often or stop doing it in order to maintain ethical responses between both sides.

Possible methodology/ies
*Interviews to frat men and observers
*Surveys

*lot of observations
Human beings are said to be the highest form of animals. It has head, hands, body and feet. In our head, there found the eye brows which means a lot to human beings. The brows can be moved up and across. Every time we cross our eye brows it can mean that we doubt, disagree or we are angry. But raising an eye brow/s is much more difficult to understand that’s why I chose the raising of our eye brows as my research topic because it covers loads of meaning.
Raising an eye brow/s is a non verbal form of communication that can be done through interpersonal or intrapersonal communication.
Raising an eye brow/s is a non verbal form of communication:
Non verbal communication is a communication that doesn’t use words. Raising an eye brow is a clear form of body language.
Raising an eye brow/s can be done through interpersonal or intrapersonal communication:
Communicating to ones self also includes gestures and facial expression to emphasize to itself if what it feels and what it means. Like wise, intrapersonal communication also needs facial expressions and gestures and emphasize sincerity in its intention to communicate.
Case study:
Different meaning and intentions of variety of eye brow raising.
Methodology:
The researcher investigated 10 persons on what they mean on a given style or kind of raising an eye brow. The researcher shows the kind of eye brow raising and the investigated person is asked if what it means to him/her.
Results:
Fast raising of eye brows and going down quickly:
10 out of ten said that it means an approval or agreement..
Letting the brows raised for a while:
8 out of 10 said that it is used in asking to repeat a statement or question.
2 out of 10 said that it shows a state of shock
One brow raised:
9 out of 10 said that it shows doubt
1 out of 10 said that is shows sarcasm
Conclusion:
Raising an eye brow/s without any word shows informality. But if it is done with a word from your mouth, it will show sincerity of your thoughts. we often raise our brows if we need to reply or react quickly. To lift the arch of short hairs above the eye, as in uncertainty, disbelief, surprise, or exasperation. Raising the eyebrows adds intensity to a facial expression. Brow-raising can strengthen a dominant stare, exaggerate a submissive pout, or boost the energy of a smile. In tandem with head-tilt-back, raising one or both eyebrows suggests a supercilious air of disdain, haughtiness, or pride.
